Shifting Perspectives

I started this blog just a little over a year ago...
with one main purpose....

 to help find my
what's next....

As I have written about so many times
leaving full time motherhood to my next chapter...

I have learned much in this reflective process....
more often than not by writing about the challenging times.

Having an epiphany that my anger and what seemed to be disappointment with my children...
was really just fear of them moving on...and me being left behind
fearing the end of a chapter.

learning to respect the process...
to embrace it...

I have moved to the point I can see the beauty
in this evolution of family
that I couldn't stop if I wanted to...

My perspective has shifted so much over the last year...
I have been able to move from fear and the overwhelming feelings of loss....

to the freedom and beauty of what  this next chapter can bring.

I think I'm really going to love this age...
it comes full with what I have done.
The questions of youth have been answered.

I got into a great college...
I found a career I was passionate about...
I found a husband to love and be loved by....
I was blessed with three wonderful children...
I rose to the occasion and was a good mother...
devoting myself to their needs at the time...

I was able to answer my questions of youth...
I have been a good daughter, wife and mother...
I have become the responsible adult...

Now as an artist...
it is my time...
my time to explore...
with the benefit of time
and
even a little discretionary income.

My perspective has shifted from loss
to the beauty and freedom of
what is yet to be....

It has been a long journey to get here
and I know I have far to go...
but for the first time...in a long time....
the perspective is truly shifting….

I  can see my next chapter on the horizon
and
it's a great one.

Wishing you love and joy
as you travel and style your life....

  5. I love this celebratory post. You've done so much in your life, and you're still doing so much to be excited about. I have to admit, when this last round of Teens flies out of the nest, I'm going to celebrate a little peace and quiet :)

  8. You write beautifully about your transition with astute self awareness. I can relate to your journey. The photos are expansive and reflect your wisdom. Happy that you're finding your way to the next chapter, which I'm sure will be as successful and fulfilling as your past.

  9. This is a beautiful post Tamera. Relating to it, I think I have numbed myself to many things right now out of necessity. I can ignore it for now, but that won't work long term of course. There are so many unknowns for me. I hope to get to the place you are headed. I love reading this even if I am so far behind. xo
