China Cove ... Sunset Cocktails … Part 6

Happy Weekend my friends!
I am back this week with my 6th installment in my
Summer Sunset Cocktail Series

This week I am sharing a sunset in Corona Del Mar's
China Cove
and
it's a picnic!

Having a sunset picnic on the beach is one of my favorite ways
to truly experience a SoCal sunset.
A bit more work up front with packing a meal and drinks
but always so worth it!

Packing salads in lidded jars is an easy and efficient way
to transport food to the beach!

Healthy Cheesecake
 in jars is an ultimate
picnic treat!
I did a fabulous  recipe post  for it  HERE

Cooking for the picnic isn't even mandatory
for one of my favorite picnics
I just packed a bottle of wine, basket and blanket
and
we stopped at a local deli for sandwiches.
My tin cups worked perfectly for the occasion
because as I mentioned before
most California beaches don't allow alcohol
but they don't go out enforcing it unless you are ill behaved
 or
overt about your consumption.

China Cove Beach is a little hidden gem in Corona Del Mar
You take stairs down and a little winding walk thorough the waterfront neighborhood
to a small beach which faces out into Newport Harbor.
You can sit and watch the boats come and go
as the sun dips from the sky.

Writing this post has me thinking
it's definitely time
to pull out my blanket and picnic basket again this weekend!

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

  1. Tamera, I was just thinking of having a picnic for our anniversary coming up. Last year we took a gondola private cruise in the harbor; this year I may order caviar on-line and pack it for an evening picnic......just like you suggest!
