Layering Fall Into My Home

I adore  fall
and
I adore
seasonal decorating
both inside and outside
my home.

I have been doing this so many years
I have it down
to a
quick and easy
layering process.

Since I
 decorate seasonally
I keep a neutral palette with my furniture
so I can change accessory layers easily.

This makes it a simple process
to layer in the season.

I start with

Textiles

Pillows
Table Runners or Tablecloths
Cozy Throws
Rugs (some years)

I love
 collecting seasonal pillows
and
 especially for fall!
I love mixing in color and textures!

 My Next Layer

Candles

I add collections of them as centerpieces.

I also add them to my mantle shelving.

I basically spread them all around

our living/ dining area.

It makes for

 a beautiful, warm glow

especially with a fire in the fire place.

One of my favorites about
Fall
is getting up before the sun
for
Coffee, Candles and Gratitude
before the sunrise.

Next Layer
Natural Elements

I always have lots of
plants and interior trees.
For me
they bring life to my spaces.

In the
Fall
one of my favorite natural elements to bring in
besides
flowers
are
Pumpkins
Inside and out!

This is the first time I added in a very large
Floral Arrangement
I am absolutely loving
the dramatic impact!

Every morning
I can't wait to see how the flowers change!

I also love highlighting seasonal change
in my
Outdoor Rooms
as well!

This year I did a gorgeous
Fall Planting
in our front yard planter.

For the first row in
the Planter
I added a sweet low growing flower row.

Next a row of Pumpkins with a ton of character.

Behind those
a row of
Ornamental Corn
in a deep purple tone.

Behind those are my herbs and tomatoes
which are finishing up their season.

Since our large planter is in our front yard
I keep the seasonal pretties up front
and
the 'crops' in the back of the planter.

How gorgeous are these ornamental corn stalks.

For the front terrace
I added
fall throws and pillows
as well as more
pumpkins.

For our newest terrace
I simply
layered in a few more
pumpkins.

They are so fun and easy to work with!
I keep them out until
the day after Thanksgiving
And there is no storing these decorations involved!

Similar layering inside our
Courtyard

Lots of Textiles

Pillows
Layers of throws
A Rug
and
of course some
extra large pumpkins
candles
and
 strung lights above
all
Layer Fall
into even my outdoor rooms!

Fall
seasonal  decorating
 can be quick and easy
if you just think in terms of

Layers

Think

Textiles
like

Pillows
Throws
Runners and Tablecloths
Rugs

Candles
and
Natural Elements
like
Flowers
Plants, Flowers and Pumpkins

Thanks so much for visiting here!
Leave a comment and let me know
what your favorite
way to seasonally decorate is.
I'd love to hear!

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy

as you

We rent a storage for the seasonal decor, although one of our next home projects we are doing (we as in Jeff), is building our own storage casita at our house. My very own extended prop closet! Speaking of closets ... I am still in awe of your very own new beautiful dream closet! I'm off now to visit your blog darling!! Sending big hugs!! XOX

  8. Such beauty, Tamera. You've given me some wonderful ideas that I plan on implementing since we are entertaining more outdoors lately. I want to purchase a couple of comfortable couches but I wonder, do you bring everything indoors in the evening? I know you have a "tent"-type of enclosure, do you put everything in there and/or are there materials that you can leave outside?
You make everything look so luscious and fun!

    1. Hello dearest Catherine! Sol lovely to see your comment here! All of my outdoor furniture is made to live outside. I do bring the pillows and throws inside when it rains, which is usually not very often in the fall. My tepee, that you so sweetly remember was a one season star. My recommendation for buying textiles for outside, is to buy acrylic or polyester, as they don't mildew in the dampness and are easy to throw in the washer.

My other favorite piece for our new normal, of outside entertaining is a gas fire pit. We have added one in both the front and backyards. Not only do they put out heat, they make for the most lovely ambiance. We will probably be adding standing heaters as well this winter.

So excited to hear of your outdoor entertaining area! Feel free to ask me any other questions. I am always so honored to be of help! Sending you big hugs darling! XOX

  10. Tamera ... I love when you share glimpses into your wonderful home. It's warm, cozy and stylish all at the same time. You make it seem effortless. Your choice of pumpkins is stunning ... the color! I've pinned a few photos so I can remember this for next year when my gardens are a bit more mature. Your outdoor living spaces continue to be glorious ... the way you layer textured pillows and throws ... I'm in awe. Thanks for sharing fall at Casa Tamera ... it's enchanting! xo
