Valentine's Day Dinner Decor

We celebrated Valentine's Day this weekend
with our group of friends that we do our monthly 'Friends Dinner Parties' with.
I was so happy our month  to host came with a romantic holiday!

To celebrate Valentines Day I chose a soft color palette
with pale pinks and greens.

I still am using my driftwood as a centerpiece base atop my knit runner.

I found the most wonderful pale pink pink multi petaled lilies
I gathered them full and cut them short
and into tea cups and a beautiful collection of small vessels.

My large airplants still mixed in perfectly in this tablescape as well!
As did my pink sand succulent orb.

For place settings I did four layers
beginning with a straw charger and a hammered metal charger.
I mixed my pale pink modern  Sasaki plates from our wedding
with romantic pink trimmed bone china given to me by my Mother in Law years ago.
It makes my heart so happy to mix beloved pieces together
for a fresh new look!

I carried my pale pinks across to our living room area.
Simply adding in tea cup bouquets to my existing candle centerpiece.

My soft sculpted heart  that I shared last post here
was hung over the macrame covered chalk board
for a quick Valentine nod.

I kept my couches simple letting the new dusty rose mohair pillows do the talking.

On the wall in the back left corner of this picture
are display shelves and a small mattress
that I always  keep up year round
as it is such a quick and easy way to bring seasonal decor into the room.

For Valentine's Day I simply slipped cut stems into the backs of frames.

Then I realized the mattress could become a perfect background for a floral heart installation.
I bought several dozen roses and clothes pinned them to the wire mattress
using the remaining greenery to fill in the heart!

I chose to wear a full skirt and cashmere sweater
finished with romantic pearl statement necklaces.
I wanted an outfit that was cozy and still elegant
for my evening  of Valentine hostessing.

For those of you who are faithful followers of my blog
you may recognize this dress from HERE or HERE.
When I bought it for my Mother of the Bride duties
I knew I would get so much use of it!
This wearing I simply added my cashmere sweater over the sleeveless dress
turning it into an instant ball skirt!

It ended up to be such a wonderful dinner party!
With good friends and a delicious  steak and scallop meal prepared by my husband!
Dinner with good friends is always
a perfect way to begin the Valentine celebrations!!

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life
