“Spacer"/

in the garden.....

I have spent a good deal of my time these past two weeks
in the garden...
trimming back, transplanting, planting new...

I have realized over the last eighteen years
designing, styling and nurturing this garden...

it is my go to place to work...
when life seems out of my control...

when I had a miscarriage before Hunter's birth...
all my free time was spent in the garden...
cutting back....planting....

the garden is such
 a soulful place...
when I give into time spent there...

I am able through the different work...

some times gentle pinching back...

sometimes hard core ripping out and hacking back...

sometimes just planting new pretties...
sometimes just watering....

to connect to something much greater than myself.

The garden is one of the places I feel a connection to a higher power...
especially in the early cool mornings   before the sun breaks over the mountains...
always offering the promise of a new day...

I have been tending this garden for eighteen years...

back when it looked like this...

a tiny bare spot of hard earth...
with a new family in the making...

Our family has grown to the 5 of us here...

this garden has been many things here over the years...

suiting the changing needs of a growing family...

and always providing a soulful refuge for me.

 this upcoming week...
will be the culmination of many changes that have been in the works for a while now....

Ellis leaves to study in Italy...
Slater will be full time in college...
Hunter has transfered into our neighborhood high school in order to play football.

All good going forward changes....
Changes in which i am very proud of
each of them...

but changes none the less....

so until next time dear friends....

I'll be in the garden.

Wishing you love and joy
as you style your life

thanks so for stopping by

  1. What a beautiful outdoor space you have and wow, three children, how amazing it must be to watch them grow into adulthood and their sense of self.

  5. I'd never want to leave such a beautiful garden. Your children sound very cool; I know they have a great mom.

  6. All the digging, planting, fertilizing, watering, and pruning pays off. The family you have nurtured is blooming, your garden is a magnificent refuge, and you are continuing to grow with beauty.

  9. Tamera, I have been missing my garden. I didn't think about this until now. I have had someone help me this last year because I had too much going on. But that means I am not connecting there. The garden is most soulful and a place of healing for me. I need to get back to the garden again. Thank you for reminding me. xo
