We traveled to the Arizona desert for a magical wedding at
I was so happy with the dress I wore to the wedding!
I refashioned the dress I wore to our son's wedding
by adding four layers of ostrich feathers to the off shoulder collar.
I did this because I wanted a bit more arm coverage these days.
I couldn't be happier with the result!
I added a brooch I custom made for the look.
For whatever reason
feathers make me so happy to wear!
We had such a lovely time staying at
The property is made up of bungalows and suites
on 23 acres of beautifully manicured desert landscape.
We had the
Sonoran Suite
located in the Retreat
which gave us access to all three pools and their beautiful spa
as well as two private patios.

I was so happy with our mid century modern suite.
It was spacious with a desert aesthetic mixed with original art works.
The custom furniture is from
Scottsdale's Artist Colony.
The community in Scottsdale is know for it's art galleries and art scene.
One of the artists from the colony did the felted spheres on the wall.
Her name is Chance Phillips and her pieces can be found throughout the property .
I am so impressed how the Andaz,
which is a Hyatt property
worked so hard bring in local art and artists
into the aesthetic of the property!
The hats I brought for the trip
felt right at home.
We dropped off our luggage
and
we went straight to the
Turquoise Pool!
If you've been reading my blog long
you already know how much
I love a pool!
Back in our suite it was time to organize.
One of my favorite parts of the Sonoran Suite
was the fact that it had a closet space
which I very much needed on this trip!
Another huge luxury with the Sonoran Suite was that it had two bathrooms!
I fear Jeff and I are forever spoiled.
Just being able to leave all of my face and makeup products out
felt like such a luxury!

After dinner we headed over to the smaller
Retreat Pool
for a night swim.
It was still warm and we were treated
to a fantastic lightning show in the distance.
Every early morning we enjoyed
walking the beautiful property.
Their tag line is
" A world away, in the middle of everything"
It really is true. The grand property is located in town
but designed with everything turned inwards
so you feel as though you are much more remote
and
one with nature.

Megan who is an incredibly talented graphic designer
did all of the invitation packages and signage.
She captured the location and feeling of the wedding
with such whimsy and fun!
If you ever need a graphic designer
I can't recommend
highly enough!
For the welcome party
I wore my Proenza Schouler
column dress with pearls.
I love accessorizing this dress
with my custom pearl cuffs and crystal earrings.
I just had to include the incredible invites
that Megan did!
I think a great invite truly sets the tone for an event!
I love hers so much I brought them with me.
And how adorable are the luggage tags
that were a welcome gift
from the mother of the bride, Christina.
Since the bride and groom also traveled to the wedding
a gift card was the perfect gift.
It was a sunset wedding
but cocktail time was still warm
so these sweet parasols were available to all!
This is the gorgeous Mother of the Groom.
I just loved how the lines of the parasol
complimented her dress!
I am still in awe of how beautiful
and
moving the ceremony was.
It was such an honor to be a guest.
And I don't think my eyes were dry the entire time.
You could literally feel love in the air.
Our two grands did an awesome job in the wedding!
Another of my favorite parts of the wedding
was seeing our son Hunter and Megan
interacting with their children.
Just watching this family made my heart so full and happy.
Megan gave a beautiful speech as Maid of Honor.
It truly was such a magical and moving evening!
During the entire stay had so many
Magical Moments
that
I am tucking in my heart
to remember forever.
