We drove up to Hollywood this weekend
to check out the iconic
I have been on a mission of late
to explore the city of Los Angeles which
at just a bit of an hour plus away
has so much that this California woman has yet to experience!
My outfit of choice for our city adventure
a black and white ensemble made up of three pieces!
A wrap vest by Jennifer Grace
a white smocked top from my favorite San Diego boutique
Chateau Bel Age
and
cropped pants recently purchased from Anthropolgie
finished with my favorite ankle boots!
finished with my favorite ankle boots!
My earrings are a semi homemade design
as I bought the bottom part
and
simply added a mosaic beaded top part so that I could make them into clip earrings.
My solid black Celine sunglasses
were the perfect neutral for the colorful earrings.
Never knowing where our city adventure will take us
I always travel with night options
as I'm not one for wearing hats when it's dark outside
My new pearl crown
was the perfect evening answer!
We made a quick stop in downtown for some quick shopping.
Then it was onto our destination of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
Established in 1927
with guests like Clark Gabel, Carole Lombard, Charlie Chaplin
and Marilyn Monroe
the Hotel Roosevelt is what Hollywood legends are made of!

the Hotel Roosevelt is what Hollywood legends are made of!
The inside of the hotel is Spanish Colonial Revival
Full of leather couches, wrought iron chandeliers and colorful tiles throughout.
With 8 different restaurants
there is something for everyone!
We were off to find the Tropicana Pool Bar outside!
I had no idea the iconic view of the hotel I had seen so often
was actually from poolside at the Tropicana!
was actually from poolside at the Tropicana!
This pool was even in I Love Lucy in the 1955 episode
when the Ricardo's visited Hollywood.
Nothing like alfresco dining.
In 1988 British painter David Hockney
did a multi million dollar mural on the bottom of the Tropicana Pool.
And boy does it come even more to life with the hotel reflecting on the water!
We can check off this hotel on our list of iconic Hollywood Hotels.
I can't wait to go back and work down other hot spots on our LA list!
