The Parker Hotel Palm Springs

The Parker Hotel
in Palm Springs
is one photo opportunity after another.

Designed by Johnathon Adler in 2005
with a design plan in his words to
"Unite happiness and chic"
and
he has done just that!
The Parker was previously
the Merv Griffin Resort and Givenchy Spa.

It seems every corner you turn
there is more   bright Palm Springs splendor.

This all made for the perfect opportunity to wear my
Tory Burch tunic
emblazoned with crystals.
I have had this tunic for years
and
it always speaks Palm Springs to me.
Because of the heat
I paired it with my
wide and flowing white pants by
Artleliar Nicole Miller.
The fact that the pants are lined and wide
gives them them beautiful movement when walking.

The Parker was a perfect fit for my
for my extra wild Frank Olive straw hat.
I wore my favorite Jeffrey Campbell white shoes
and
my summer staple straw bag
that originates form Africa.

The Parker lobby.

The bar lounge ...

complete with hanging chairs.

We ate at
 Norma's
one of the Parker's two restaurants
where breakfast
the most important meal of the day
is  served
all day.

Sitting down I was immediately taken with
the embroidered fabric placemats
and
Adler's salt and pepper shakers
designed specifically  for the property

I  was a tad bit saddened
to find they didn't sell these fabulous  little sculptures
and
wondered how many must 'fly' out of there.

With the water delivery
came a 'smoothie shot'
perfectly refreshing from the outside heat.

The popular resurgence of donuts
has made it's way into Norma's as well.
But here when you order them
they come freshly made and even  warm
served with lemon custard and blubbery jam.

My favorite part of the Parker
their grounds
where it seems around every tightly trimmed hedge
is another perfectly designed seating area!

Some seating areas complete with fire pits.

Seating is to be found
encircling the croquet field.

The scalloped umbrellas
have me on a personal hunt now!
Just so much style punch
form one scalloped garden accessory!

The Lemonade Stand
was another treat to be found
winding through
the living hedged walls.

So if you find yourself in Palm Springs
I have definitely added
'breakfast' at
The Parker
 to my must do list!

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

    1. Thank you so much Joni! The Parker makes great photos such a breeze! Norma's is so well designed with such perfect color use. the inside dining color use is much more subtle with just big punctuations of colors on the table. While the outside patio is an explosion of textiles colors!

It sure is so nice to have you back in the blogging world my dear!

  2. Tamera!
We have a time share option in Palm Springs.
I had never considered going there until now!
Thank you for bringing this beautiful place "into light" for me!
The mid century style is embracing to this girl, who's youth was celebrated in the 50's, 60's and 70's.

    1. Oh lucky you … to have a time share option in Palm Springs! I find the area so delightful … the more time I spend there … it is like pulling off layers of an onion … the more beauty, history and visual inspiration there is to be found! In the past we have done some quick drive throughs … and I missed it all … and left wondering what's the big deal? Now with more time spent … I realize there is so much magic and beauty to be found in the desert!

Thank you so much for your visit my dear!

  4. The Parker looks like a fabulous place! I love the modernist decor and those Adler birds are available in white but I don't know if they are salt and pepper shakers I have seen them in passing. Love how you have styled your outfit for breakfast!
The straw hat is perfect for the summer sun.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

    1. Yes, it might be time for some Tory! So many of her tunics are classics that remain relevant for years! I got mine at the now defunct Loehmans … I am now looking for a new source for discounted treasures!

  20. Tamera, I loved this so much! What a gorgeous spot with fun decor.. I found the scalloped umbrellas here:

I think they are in other colors.. A bit pricey for this particular one, but fabulous!! So 1960s, I love it! xx Kim
