.... { a walk on the beach } ....

We spent the weekend in Avila Bay...
We were  there to celebrate my beautiful daughter...
turning 21!

For those of you who have followed along with my story of
transitioning
from full time mother... to my what's next...
you know of my struggle of letting go ....
and holding on...
how it's been hard having  two now...
flown and grown...
and the loneliness it brought...

Well this weekend...
I was  able to see the beauty of where I am....

now....

I was able to get up and coffee in hand go for the most magnificent
beach walk...
all by myself...
this time...
I wasn't lonely....
I was able to take in the majesty of the beauty that surrounded me....

and I was
Grateful....
as I watched parents with young children...

today,
the longing for the past left me....
and I was
grateful...
grateful that I had walked that walk...
with few regrets...
and walked it well...
with my whole heart...

and now I could go on...

to my
what's next...
with a
very Grateful heart.

  2. Sand and surf always soothes and revives me. In life, what's next keeps us moving forward. It will be different, but that doesn't mean it will be bad, just different. It's hard letting go of the child and then it's so rewarding to embrace and share the life of the adult. More to be revealed ... and that's the adventure! ((((Hugs)))

  8. You look as effortlessly glamorous and beautiful as always, Tamera. I think that if you can enjoy and be satisfied by one's own company, you will never really be lonely. You have done a wonderful job with your children, I hope you do feel proud of your commitment to them as they grew up.
    Now? Onwards!
PS. I linked to you in my post today, hope that's OK with you. xxx

  13. You remind me of selkie-woman, appearing in her winter guise to watch the humans on the beach. Seal-sleek and just a little mysterious. Hope you enjoyed your stroll.
