my grownup summer tree house...

 As happy as I am to follow Autumn's allure...

there are some parts of summer that are hard for me to say good to...

one is my 

grown up

 'tree house'

that  I style on our raised deck...

each summer

 it's a small little space...

so each year I am able to make it ...

a little different....

This year...

my styling inspiration...

my summer 

blue and white + texture and textiles...

having been styling my home for as long as I have...

I was able to pull from my collections...

 my jumping off point...

2 extra large stripe down pillows ...

I mixed in some blue and white embroidered florals...

ticking pillows which i made several years ago...

shabby chic linen ruffled  pillows 

and being oh so particular with my pillow arrangement....

I needed one more pillow with the toile pattern to round out and balance...

and being one who believes in

'impressionistic decorating'

meaning:

I am willing to do the least amount of effort 

for the biggest effect...

I simply took a white cotton ruffle pillow

and 

simply wrapped the  toile fabric around it...

pinning it in the back...

My pillow arrangement all sits atop an air mattress covered with

a cream quilt. 

 over the deck sides...

I draped my collection of cream throws...

tablecloths...

rugs...

and really what ever other textiles I had on hand,,,

in creams ...and faded blues and whites...

I brought up 4 wooden folding chairs...

that I recovered with an old cream quilt...

added a rug...

tables...

and

a galvanized tray 

filled to the brim with old recycled jars...

making for the most wonderful and romantic

candle arrangement...

perfect for savoring the long summer evenings.

 the 'treehouse' deck provides a wonderful view...

 of summer lounging...

but now with Autumn soon approaching ....

it's time to pack it away...
