The Artist's Village....downtown Santa Ana

This week my very favorite daughter Ellis, and I
 went to the Artist's Village
 in downtown Santa Ana
 in our search for breakfast.
The real impetus for our search is to expand our urban exposures....
to find the gems in our
'own backyard'
and more importantly

spend time together
while she is home from college.
Much of downtown, including  most of the Artist's Village was built in the early 1900's.

In the heart of the Artist's Village we found the wonderfully eclectic Gypsy Den.

A vegetarian restaurant serving the tastiest of breakfasts and so much more!

Our french toast was covered with not only fruit,
but also the surprise of homemade granola.

Our other choice was the breakfast mix, which consisted of
eggs with vegetables, potatoes and homemade bread.
Each week Ellis and I order two plates and share,
ensuring we always get
the best of both worlds!

The eclectic ambiance expands on the delicious menu.

Original artwork abounds.

My ' breakfast search dates' with Ellis have become one of my very favorite parts of my week!
I REALLY Love this girl!

Wishing you love and joy
as you search
for finds
in Your Own Backyard

thanks so for stopping by

  2. What an interesting city you live in. I love old towns so much. That looked like an interesting place to eat, too. Very artsy!

  3. Isn't that true that we don't have to go looking any further than our own back yard to find our heart's desire? I think Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz said that! :) Beautiful pics, and your daughter is a beauty as well. I like her name! :)
