Old Is The New Gold

I got my new T shirt from
Advanced Style
Old Is The New Gold

There have been so many marvelous women
styling theirs
I couldn't wait to put my own style spin on it!

I paired my white T
with a white trench
sequin pants
and
I did a special gold crown just for the occasion!

Being such a big fan of Ari's
you can imagine how excited I was
to show up in the Advanced Style
Instagram feed!

I will always be grateful to Ari
for being such an integral player
in helping to change the perception of aging
from that of fear
into an aspiration!

I for one
intend to celebrate my years
and
my hard won wisdom!

I want to spend my days joy filled
and
grateful for my health and blessings.

I want to make each of my days matter.
I want my old
to be my gold.

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

Saturday Quote

Happy Weekend my friends!

Here's to spending time
Sharing our Joy!

Hello Gratitude!

Hello Gratitude!
My heart is full!

There has been a lot of really great going on around here!

My heart is ever so excited to be making
crowns!
It has been quite a while since I have been
so creatively energized
as in
I can't wait to get through all of my other work
and
get back into my studio to create!

I have so many ideas for all kinds of crowns
I feel like I can't get my ideas out fast enough!
And I fall in love with each one!

I am so proud and excited for my darling daughter
and
 her new blog
The Ell Blog

Only two weeks out
and
she already is working with the
Painted Palette
shooting some of their product for their wonderful shop!

She also has more collaborations lined up already
than I can count.

This all makes this Momma's heart so happy!
Ellis has really been searching to find her passion …
I think she has.

We all returned this week
from a marvelous Catalina family getaway!
What a true pleasure it is
experiencing time together with adult children.
The memories will live in my heart forever.

I have been getting ready for our Easter brunch this week!
With the vacation
and
my passion for crowns
it is taking some time to recover the house and garden
up to entertaining shape!

But I definitely appreciate the grounding
activity of getting ones house in order again!

I am most pleased with my courtyard centerpiece I did for spring!
I simply took
 an old wooden tray
lined it with plastic and gravel
and
put in a flat of a flowering ground cover!

It's another outdoor centerpiece
that I will get a least a month or two of use!

Now I must get back to my Easter prepping!

Thank you ever so much for visiting!  xox

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

Saturday in Laguna Beach

I was back in Laguna Beach on Saturday
for another of
The French Basketeer's
French Food Camps.

My favorite part of wardrobe styling
is always dressing for an occasion
and
going to Andrea's Saturday afternoon classes
are always a stylish occasion!

For  Andrea's French Food Camp
which is always at her historic home
outside on the patio
I wanted a boho patio dress vibe.
Romantic comfort was my intent.

I pulled out my vintage crocheted skirt
paired it with my favorite piece

my Free People tunic slip
and topped it off with my Rachel Zoe ribbon weave sweater.

To keep the outfit from feeling to bulky
I gathered the bottom of the sweater
and
fastened it with some vintage flowers.

I finished my ensemble
with a new crown
and
 a perfectly boho backpack
from Forever 21.

This month one of my all time favorite florists joined the group!
Mary Qvale of Qstreet.

I had previously met Mary at one of Andrea's dinner parties
and
was immediately taken with her  paired down sense of style.
Her ability to edit out the unnecessary
and
highlight what is
always has me in awe of her artistry.

Mary's restrained table top decor
was built on a linen tablecloth
with white butcher paper run down the middle.
Stunning arrangements of branches
with sculptural appeal lined the long table
and
 were interspersed with
vintage glassware
luxuriously large linen napkins
and
free floating ferns.

I wanted a special Crown for the occasion
and
 opted for
a Frida influenced headpiece
in all taupe florals.

I simply slicked my hair back into a low pony
and
had a style that lasted from
day to night!

Andrea's house in always a most romantic destination
and
I always feel ever so lucky to visit!

All this … and ocean views as well!
And to think I met Andrea
on instagram!
Social media is sometimes a magical connector!
And speaking of the magical powers of instagram
I was able to meet the gorgeous Diana
of Frenchybubbles at the French Food Camp!

She and I were introduced to each other by
@peoniesandtumbleweedsblog on instagram
Shelley who writes for the Huff Post
and
Peonies +Tumbleweeds
thought Diana and I would have a connection
and
she was so right!

Social media can be such a magical gift
when it comes to making connections!
I wouldn't even be at Andrea's without it!

Sharing some more of the beauty of the afternoon!

Andrea sharing about how the French use their herbs.

Luckily Mary brought
linens to buy …
because I couldn't wait to bring home
some of the afternoon's  Laguna Beach magic.

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

The US Grant Luxury Wedding Show

Sunday I was back in beautiful
San Diego
with my darling daughter
for
The US Grant Hotel
Luxury Wedding Show and Luncheon.

I always love to catch the train
before the sun is up
to make the very most of the train ride down the coast!

Ellis joins me on the train
getting on in Solana Beach
so we arrive
in San Diego together!

From the train depot it's  a short walk
to the historic
US Grant Hotel.

With such luxurious invites
we were pretty excited to
see what this show was all about!

The hotel did not disappoint
as far as luxury.
Definitely not the feeling
of the venue we are looking for
but a dreamy location never the less.

So many set ups
to see
with the offerings of many
luxury vendors.

Bellinis were served
and
talks from the Knot magazine
with given.

And the flowers … were divine
every where!

The luncheon included
30 different tables
designed  by 10 of
San Diego's top Wedding Planners.
Oh the beauty and the bounty
on display.

The details on each different concept table
were amazing.
I only wish we had more time to truly
take in the splendor
before we were asked to sit down at our assigned table.

Our table was a menswear theme
where the menu
was presented in leather
as well as imaginative
menswear take aways.

I was mesmerized by the opulent orchid arrangement
that was lined with white hydrangeas.

The show was quite outstanding
but
my favorite part is always spending quality time with
my girl!

Speaking of my girl
Ellis …
her brand new blog is live
here
If you get a chance stop by
and say hi!
She will be so happy for your visit
to her new little spot online!

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life
