Backyard Summer Days

 I have been having so much fun in our

backyard this summer!

I have been 

gardening

and 

redecorating some spaces.

I ordered a new sofa bed for the back corner

to replace our old loungers that had seen better days.

I got new umbrellas for the front and back.

Of course it makes my heart so happy to see 

the new space enjoyed!

Our waterfall makes for some fun boating!

This summer I hung lanterns from our custom 

table rod that Jeff made.

I ordered the paper lanterns from Amazon.

Once hung them I sprayed each one with a clear acrylic paint.

Here in Southern California we have many a drizzly mornings.

With the thick coating of clear paint

they have have weathered the season perfectly!

I have so enjoyed seeing the lanterns move in the wind.

It feels like a party everyday.

They work so beautifully with my

 blue and white summer decor.

I planted a large bowl of flowers for the centerpiece.

I found these sweet bowls at Pottery Barn.

They are acrylic, which makes them perfect

for outdoor use.

keep the table fun

as do my new bamboo silverware from Amazon.

I have been 

painting rocks

with my grandchildren.

They worked well to keep the tablecloth from blowing in the wind

as well as adding some sweet whimsy to the table.

I love when a

 tablescape comes together!

I enjoy the entire process of adding my finds little by little.

My table has been set for a weeks!

It makes me so happy to come out in the morning 

to see it while I have my coffee.

With everything being weatherproof it's a breeze to keep it clean.

We've celebrated birthdays in the backyard.

Both Hunter and Megan turned 30

within a couple of weeks of each other.

We popped up our little cabana for an afternoon of 

summer crafts.

For this week's craft we made 

wooden boats out of driftwood.

We put up one of our pools

to float the boats!

It warmed my heart to see Mom and Dad 

doing crafts too, at pickup.

I store all of these sweet backyard moments in my heart.

I never take time with family for granted.
