I pulled out my cozy wardrobe
for an impromptu visit back to
New Hampshire
to visit Jeff's parents.
We flew back within 24 hour of deciding to go.
So for someone like me who usually packs a week in advance
it was a challenge
that I was kind of excited to undertake for the first time.
I knew my first pick would be my vintage fur coat.
Not only does it keep me warm in the chilly new England weather
but more importantly
it acts as an anxiety blanket on the plane
an extra blanket in the hotel ...
and...
a perfect robe for morning coffee on the balcony.
I also brought my vintage charm necklace
that I've been adding to for several years.
The sweet charm with the little girl is a picture of my darling daughter.
Our first night in Concord we stayed at
which began it's life as a home for widows from the Civil War.
I quickly made this necklace by
linking on my charm bracelet .
I was so excited to get back to his parents
absolutely charming home!
Our son Hunter was also able to make the trip out
which was just the best gift ever!
We stopped for lunch by the lake on our way to their house.
It was a surprise visit with plenty of hugs and tears!
Any Mom knows spending quality time with your adult children
is just the best!
It was a quick and remarkable trip
to be sure!
As always my friends
I wish you love and joy
as you style your life
Dear Tamera, how beautiful you look in your vintage fur, and how useful it was too. Well done on 24 hours notice; not sure I could do that. The hotel in Concord looks so olde worlde interesting, and I bet the inside was lovely too. It is so special to visit family, and to have Hunter come too is the icing on the cake. What a gorgeous part of the world it is, reminding me of reading Little Women (a lot!) when I was a girl. xox
ReplyDeleteHello Patricia! Always so lovely to have a visit here, from you!
DeleteI was pretty shocked that I was able to pack so quickly! But I think it was because I have a whole brown section in my closet that works with my coat. I always think of it as my ' Fall in New England" section.
I also keep travel cases of skin care and essentials already packed. I realized this trip, I need to keep a special case of make up packed.
Sending you hugs to Australia! XOX
