Making Your Own Magic

These days
I think there is so much to be said for

Making Your Own Magic

In a world that can seem more uncertain
daily

It becomes so easy for me to
list all the things wrong in my life.

All of my fears
begin to come together like a strong
magnetic pull.

And then I am right back in the
proverbial rabbit hole.
A hole of depression and anxiety
I have struggled with
my entire life
on and off.

If worrying is akin to
'praying for what you don't want'

It's up to me
and
 me alone

to make my own
Magic.

Find my own
Joy.

Savor in the simple pleasures
I can find every day.

To practice
every single day

Intentional gratitude.

Practice
Kindness
Grace
and
LOVE.

To hold onto all of these
as if my life depends on it.

Because
it does.

Because I am of an age

where I realize

I literally have a finite time
left on the planet
(I know we all do, but I can feel the realness now)

I don't want to squander
my remaining time

swirling in fear
sadness
and
worry.

I don't want to drown
in disappointment and dread.

I want to
Thrive

I want to be a light for others
where I can be.

Sometimes we can be a light for others ...

Sometimes we need another's light
to see our own way out.

I have been on both sides.

So I know how important
it is

to put good
out into the world.

To focus on the good.

To be a mirror back to others
so they can see
their own worth and importance.

To be a magnetic force for good.

To spread the magic of
Positivity
Light
and
 Love.

To celebrate the gifts
that come with aging.

To no longer
feel the need to conform.

To savor and enjoy

the simple pleasure of wearing
an outfit that brings me much
 joy
that makes my heart tingle with
 happiness

Like this fabulous tulle skirt from
one of my favorite sites for
affordable and dramatic pieces
that are a joy to wear.

Underneath I added my favorite tulle skirt
that I bought in Paris
at the Opera.
I added an off the shoulder top
from Zara.

I took this outfit
with my favorite backpack and hat

to one of my very favorite spots in
here inSouthern California

for a walk in the tide
with a glass of wine
and
my love.

And
it was all

Magical.

Every minute.

We created
wonderful images
and
wonderful memories.

Memories to push deep into my heart

to remind myself
the importance of
taking the time to

Make Your Own Magic.

To focus on the good
in each and every day

in order to drown out the
noise of fear.

To remember
the words of Coco Chanel

"Beauty begins the moment
you decide to be yourself."

Sometimes
it's right there
that the
Magic Begins

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

  2. What can I say Tamera, but that this post filled me with joy, uplifted me and transported me to the most serene places inside myself. It’s such a beautiful reminder of the power of truly stepping into one’s own personal greatness.

I’m constantly flowing in and out of my own magic, and have also realized how finite my time is here on earth. Gratitude is definitely my anchor, and my strength. Today was a perfect day to read your post..I needed this. It inspired me, and sparked another little flame in my spirit. A flame that I can use to help inspire someone else.

    Thank you!

    1. "Flowing in and out of my own magic" ... I love this so much Elaine!! It articulates perfectly ... the daily journey ... of feeling and making magic. Of taking charge of who we want to be ... and even more importantly ... giving ourselves grace on the days we don't feel magical or in charge of being our best selves ... because flowing means we will once again be back making magic!

Thank you so much for reading here ... and leaving such an insightful comment! You have inspired me ... and sparked another flame in my spirit ... and I will use mine for others ... what a beautiful full circle it is! xox

  8. Serious thoughts...we all need magic in our life but isn't life a magic itself?

    1. Yes, some days life itself ... can feel like magic ... other days ... call for some serious diversion. My dad has been in ICU for over seven weeks now ... and it has been a very sad and trying situation to live under.

Thank you as always darling, for your visit and continued encouragement and kindness! xox

  9. Such a fabulous post and great reminder that we are all only here for a finite time.
I have never really suffered from depression/anxiety. But the last 6 months have found these emotions rearing their ugly heads quite often. This is such an unusual and different time, that usual methods and habits no longer work in the way they used to. It's becoming a daily practise for me to stay aware of what is going on in my head. It's not always easy.
I think a tulle skirt would help with that though ;-)
    Gorgeous as always Tamera xx
