Santa Monica Instagram Meetup

We started the year off with a visit to Santa Monica

for another fabulous Instagram meet up!

@mrs_badnage of Instagram
 was in LA visiting from Scotland

and

 I couldn't wait to meet her.

When I was wondering what I would wear for such an auspicious occasion

I knew my  pieces from

Stella Carakasi's
New Resort Collection

 would hit the mark perfectly
while visiting a couple of Santa Monica's chicest hotels!

I wore  their brand new
Work It Coat
with their new
Under The Radar Ankle Pant.

Both pieces have such great detailing
and
combining two solids of the same color
made for a perfect base ensemble
to accessorize with some glam pieces!

I wanted to go with a SoCal winter glam

so my wide brimmed wool fedora
from Australia's
Lack of Color
hit the note perfectly

Especially when I added in my newest
accessory find

 my faux fur stole
 from Restoration Hardware!

I stumbled on these fantastic faux fur wraps

when I was Christmas shopping this season.

Who knew a furniture retailer

would end up with such fabulous accessory pieces!

I picked one up in grey as well!

Our first stop 

of our Santa Monica visit 

was the beautiful 

Casa Del Mar Hotel

which is located on some prime oceanfront

for a relaxing cocktail and some pictures.

I rounded out my SoCal Glam outfit

with some stacked heels 

and 

a sleek bag.

After our relaxing cocktail and photos
it was outside 

to the iconic Santa Monica boardwalk 

for some additional photos
and
to drink in this fantastic LA view!

Once outside I couldn't wait to switch hats 

to this dramatic number

that says Glam loud and clear

in a great big voice!

I have had this beauty for years

and 

though it looks like a million bucks

it was another fashion find from Forever 21.

When you know what styles you love

you truly can find stellar accessory pieces 

in so many places that aren't even high end!

Which reminds me

these round tin framed sunglasses

which are one of my favors right now

hailed from Costume Castle!

Sunglasses are a huge accessory piece for me here in SoCal

I have a huge collection

that ranges from some glorious Tom Ford, Prada and Celine

to some equally loved 

inexpensive finds!

For me it's never as much about the brand

as it is finding just the right accessory compliments!

My accessory style tip

keep your eyes open for great pieces!

You never know where they'll turn up!

After pictures were complete

it was off to right next door to the iconic

Shutters On The Beach

to meet the gorgeous

but camera shy
