I was ever so happy with my tabletop this Thanksgiving!
So many of the ideas will translate just as well
for any upcoming tabletop festivities!
This holiday season
I am using mainly neutrals with organic accents
so I really wanted a tablecloth with some texture and depth of color.
I found my perfect solution in the fabric store!
I opted for a high quality felt
that can even be washed!
I am in love with the color and texture
and
even better
there was no sewing involved!
Each year I like to add another element or layer to my tabletop
to freshen things up.
This year I knew I wanted to add some copper color to my neutrals.
Moscow Mule cups did the trick!
On the table this year they were water cups
but we have all kinds of cocktail ideas
as well as being perfect serving cups for our seasonal eggnog!
This year these cups are just calling out for holiday parties!
I found these beauties at Crate and Barrel this season.
I added three extra large candles to my drift wood
and
finished them all off with olive branches for a simple and organic centerpiece.
One of my favorite things about our family's Thanksgiving tradition
is that my husband and daughter
do all of the cooking
so I have plenty of prep time for the table!
I actually start the set up almost the week before
so I have plenty of time to enjoy the layering process!
Then on the day of
I freshen the dishes and glasses
and
layer in the natural elements,
I once again used tiny easels and chalk boards for place cards this year.
I sprinkled in some whimsy with ceramic salt and pepper shakers
atop differing boards all around the table.
Functional and fun!
I am so in love with these vintage napkins that we found in Auburn California
for a song
at their antique market!
I ended up ever so pleased with my table!
Adding in new elements each year
gives new life to my collections of white dishes.
Just like in the art of dressing
adding and changing up accessories
can make for a whole new look
for your basic building blocks!
Whether it be a wardrobe or tabletop!
As always my friends
I wish you love and joy
as you style your life
