Simmering Potpourri

 When I entertain
I like to make sure I am addressing
all five of the senses.

An easy way to layer in the sense of smell
to holiday entertaining
or anytime
you want to be embraced by the comforting fragrance
of the season
is with some
simmering potpourri.

I have been doing this for years at our house.

 Right now here in SoCal
my garden is loaded with
both lemons and oranges
which makes for perfect simmer pickings.

So a quick harvest
and I'm almost  set for my simmer.

I always bring mine up to almost a boil
and then  turn it down to simmer.

That's it.
Simmering potpourri is  a quick and easy way to add
another sensory detail
to your holiday entertaining!

As always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

  5. My mom used to do this when I was younger, she even had one of those little potpourri burners that she passed on me last year. I love that you engage all 5 senses when entertaining, what a great way to make a big impact in a simple way! :) Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  6. Good morning Tamera-as one of the fortunate ones who has been a guest at your home I will attest to the 5 senses experience.
Your citrus harvest is bountiful this season. I love making a simmer pot myself but I've never added the cranberries. I'll try that this year. I can practically smell this if I close my eyes. I've been meaning to ask you what kind of camera you use for these gorgeous images. I'm in the market. Have a festive weekend my friend.
    xx, Heather
PS-I added a few links to some of my favorite 'shops' for the season including yours. ;) xx
