.... sometimes we learn the most important life lessons...

Sometimes we learn the most important life lessons....
from our most difficult relationships.
Here's a few things I have learned from mine.

Anger is a waste  of time.
It steals love and joy from my life...
Anger leaches my soul.

It is my job....
to 'stay in love'
not the romantic love....
but rather the verb or action of love.

Some relationships are not meant to be reciprocal....
No relationship is perfectly reciprocal all the time.

If someone goes out of their way to hurt me...
sometimes...
it tells me they are hurting...
and
I can survive the hurt.

It is my job to stay in integrity....
then
I have no need to fear the opinions of others.
I can live with the fact that not everyone will feel about me the way I hoped they would.

It is my job to develop my soul...
I have to keep it good between me and my God.

Sometimes the most difficult people to love...
are the ones who need it the most.

Love must be patient.
Love must be kind.

When I don't feel the above mentioned....
I will read this list back to my self.

as always dear friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life.

  3. Tamera dear,
This is such a reminder of a life lesson. I have lived in that place and slogged my way through. Sometimes it happens when we least expect it.
Sometimes we find ourselves in a place from which we must painfully, bravely move on......
Beautifully said.....wishing you a peaceful and relaxing weekend.
    xx, Heather

  4. Yes, you are right. Tough lessons sometimes. I've heard it said "Children need love the most when they deserve it the least". I think this extends to everyone, since we all have an inner child clamoring for attention. It's a blessing to be able to recognize this and to have the strength to support the "children" around us, including ourselves. Exhausting and rewarding. But this too shall pass; it won't always be like this. There will be places of respite as you move along your path.

Sending you love and wishing you peace!!! ........Jean

  10. Oh dear, I fear I am not good at many of the tasks on your list, Tamera! I don't respond well to purposeful attempts to hurt, no matter the cause, and I value reciprocity very highly. But I agree that difficult relationships teach us a lot. I just come to rather different conclusions! You write very eloquently about your experiences and feelings, and exude a serenity and emotional poise that I envy. xxx
