It's that time of year again for me...
birthday time!
This year I am all about
celebrating...
because I know
' I'll never be as young as I am today'
and
I am tremendously grateful for the years I have had...
the good and bad...
because
they have shaped the soul I have today
and
I know
my heart has grown larger and stronger through the trials...
and
the through the love and loves in my life.
So of course my birthday celebration calls for a family party...
I did a party style post about it HERE
I did a party style post about it HERE
and no birthday party of mine would be complete without a
birthday ensemble...
and this year...
it was all done around my
birthday crown!
My crown was the starting point of my new favorite ensemble!
I knew I wanted a long skirt with a hostessing vibe...
A vintaging trip to Old Town Orange...
wouldn't be complete without a stop in one of my favorites the Heavenly Hostess.
Here Jeff bought me an early birthday present...
this 'heavenly' lace apron!
I knew I had found part deux in my birthday outfit!
Saturday's search was for a long cream or white skirt...
This was a piece that has been on my list since last summer...
I finally was successful...
this in not one find ... but two...
The underskirt is a theory silk pleated skirt...
the 'overskirt' is from Rag and Bone and is their parachute skirt...
which is so versatile as it can be gathered up all around.
These two were definitely a birthday splurge...
but more reasonable since I found them in Loehman's Back Room
and I know they will be wardrobe staples for me for years to come!
My blouse is a silk by vince that I already owned...
I finally opened my white ballet flats from L'Opera in Paris...
they made a perfect hostessing slipper...
(finished yet still the comfort of barefoot)
I added my vintage fox collar...
the new cross earrings I did last month....
and of course topped it all off with
my new birthday crown...
and Voila...
a perfect birthday party/ hostessing creation...
as always dear friends
I wish you love and joy
as you style your life
Happy Birthday BEAUTIFUL! I adore your outfit. I wonder what the original intent was for your gorgeous apron?? It's fabulous.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Tamera. I just had a birthday last month and my number is a wee bit bigger than yours. I'm just now settling into it. You look super gorgeous. We should all wear crowns every day!
ReplyDeleteConnie i couldn't agree more about wearing crowns... it isn't about being queen... it's about celebrating life's crowning moments!
DeleteHappy Birthday, Tamera! You look amazing... as always. Here I sit in my sweat pants and Husker -nation t -shirt and baseball cap... no lace and crowns for me today! But I raise my glass of green tea to you!Wishing you a year of more glorious adventures, growth, love and laughter. I may not fit into the party look today, but my spirit is singing with party-ness and happiness for you! Always,

PS... I think I am going to go put on some mascara and schelp to the grocery store... standing tall and imagining my inner style diva will come out tomorrow. You do spur me on to get out of my super comfy zone and back into a style zone!xoxoxox
So good to hear from you dear friend! Many thanks for the kindest of birthday wishes!
DeleteTrust me... I do Not always look amazing. Amazing for me takes a very consorted effort these days... i enjoy knowing I can if I choose... but most days are spent happily in studio attire. A few basic pieces that can be Easily accessorized at the drop of a hat... when going out into 'the real world' I even sound like I have of late spent too much time alone in the studio!
It sounds like your business Cute Beams is going so well! Very proud of you my dear!!
Happy Birthday, Tamera!
ReplyDeleteI love your happy smile and I am sure you will celebrate in style with your loved ones.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, stylish and with a bit of whimsy. I love it! I love when people actually celebrate birthdays instead of grousing about them. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhat an utterly amazing outfit, Tamera! And of course you need a birthday crown - but I think you could wear it every day, actually, you look every inch a princess! All the soft layers and textures, the pleats and the silk, the fur and the gold, the lace and the stars and crosses, it's all so pretty and rather magical. Happy Birthday! xxx

ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, that is one heck of a "birthday suit!" ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look GORGEOUS!
Embracing the gift of birthdays can be challenging and yet it is a privilege denied to many. Instead of counting candles, it is more important to count our loved ones as the most important markers of a life well spent, and to cherish the time that we have with them!
Happy birthday, Tamera! You look perfectly gorgeous. Have a wonderful birthday week.
ReplyDeleteHeather from Friendship, Life and Style
Wow, you look absolutely stunning! Happy birthday and enjoy the celebration!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Your Royal Highness. Your towering hair and crown alone are worthy of fealty, but I am also struck by your floaty silk cloud of silk. That's the kind of apron I would NEVER object to for my birthday. What a man, a fitting prince, to choose such a perfect gift for his queen. What a great way to celebrate. Glad you could break out your ballerina flats for this special occasion.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly know how to inspire and bring a smile to my life. I just love how you celebrate LIFE and in such great fashion and style, especially surrounded by family. You are most definitely fit for a queen. A Very Happy Birthday to you. Thank you for sharing a bit of the celebration with us.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! You look stunning! I love the lace apron!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday lovely Tamera!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a beautiful bday! You certainly looked beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour Happy Birthday brightened my day ... isn't it supposed to be the other way around? I have learned, over the years, lie about my age, but backwards. Just had my real 63rd, but the day after, I started saying I am 64. Then by the time I get to my next birthday, I'm comepletely accustomed to the real, new number.
ReplyDeleteKnow your celebration had to be amazing.
J
Oh my gosh Jan... i do the same thing... I always age myself forward so i am not taken off balance when the new number ticks by!
DeleteAll the cool old broads do this. I find myself in excellent company.
DeleteYou're gorgeous, Tamera! What an absolutely beautiful and elegant outfit.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you...why not get the most out of celebrating our birthdays? I love your comment about how the years have shaped your soul. I totally agree.

Hey, Tamara, I met you on Patti's blog where I was blown away by your similarities to my daughter also celebrating a March birthday. (42) I immediately linked her up to this post. Surely there is something to being born under the same sign?? She so loved your blog that she is out shopping for a tiara at this moment. Thanks for sharing yourself.
ReplyDeleteYou will soon start a new phase of life! But check this site out
ReplyDeletethat can wait until you are older. Enjoy another year of being young. Happy Birthday.
