One of my very favorite parts of traveling Europe...
discovering pubs along the way...
and Saint Andrews had two of mine....
the first being VIC
Located in an old movie theater...
there is something visually resonating where ever you look in this spacious pub.
Certainly one of the most exciting views...
the enormous skeletal chandelier that hangs atop the staircase...
as well as the collaged wall paper the envelops the entry.
with something new to read with each pass through.
I came back on the look out for dish towels as napkins...
and have tracked some down to Ikea.
I thought on the trip I would be so inspired by clothes...
but I must admit finding quirky pub interiors...might just have been my favorite part.
I truly miss them already!
as always dear friends
I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

So charming! I have yet to travel to the UK....it's next on my list.
ReplyDeleteI love a good pub anywhere!
xo, A
Adrienne, I highly recommend the UK... especially as a fellow pub lover!
DeleteI am so enjoying your writings on Sonoma!
Pubs are fun. I've not been to Scotland yet but I did really enjoy the ones in England and Ireland. They are cozy, eclectic and have some fun characters to see.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
How did you like Ireland? That was on our list to see... but time ran away from us!
ReplyDeleteI love cosy pubs too, much better than formal dinners which I find so wearing now apart for special occasions .
ReplyDeleteWe love to visit pubs too. There's something special about the places in Europe we seldom see in the states.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever been to Barcelona? I love it there, hope to return again someday. The old Gothic district is fascinating.
I'm still laughing at what is says on the photo above "something new to read with each pass through"... It just cracks me up for some reason. :-) The photos are so pub-like. You captured it. xo
ReplyDeleteI love your tour of pub interiors. You captured the atmosphere in each and every photo!
