Trying to improve my own outlook...
and spend more time counting my joys, rather than lack...
I have spent more time this week focusing on
gratitude for the sacred ordinary....
trying to make my life my art....
one day at a time.
I was lucky enough this week to spend plenty of time in the garden...
adding in a few more fall touches....
I did a huge color bowl for the front terrace
of mums and kale....
Fall brings the gift of later sunrises...
so I have more time to savor my favorite ritual...
coffee... candlelight...and quiet.
A peaceful time...to focus...
on how very much I have to be grateful for...
and makes plans for the gift of a new day.
I had the good fortune to get in several mountain bike rides this week...
It is out here riding...
feeling the movement...
with great music
(this week it was Mumford and Son's newest)
in the great outdoors...
that I can truly feel the
Sacred in the Ordinary
my soul feels filled
to the over flow of tears
in the sheer perfection of a moment in time.
I made a point of going to the farmers's market this week...
in a continued search to celebrate the simple pleasures and need of
nourishing
mind... body... and soul.
I have added visiting my favorite library to my weeks schedule...
in attempt at a little more mind nourishment.
When I home schooled my children
we spent a lot of time relishing in the bounty of our many libraries...
I realized just recently...
I can still go in...
just for me.
as always dear friends
I wish you love and joy
as you style your own life.

oh i must do the same, focus on the joys--we had a rough rough weekend with the mother/teenage daughter relationship, down right ugly. it's SO hard.
ReplyDeleteYou and I are both in the same frame of thought...change of seasons, relishing all that is changing around us and looking for moments of quiet contemplation! The gourds you arranged are wonderful with their brilliant hues.
