I did it... my clothes are officially packed
for our trip to Europe on Wednesday
for our trip to Europe on Wednesday
Much thought and reworking have transpired...
but in the end I am very content with my choices.
but in the end I am very content with my choices.
I love my clothes and choices too much to ever be the traveler who sets off to Europe for three weeks...
with just one carry on...
but...
I am very proud that I have a tightly edited wardrobe that actually fits into one checked bag...
and I don't feel I had to sacrifice style or varied choice...
My wardrobe needs will be vastly different...
taking me from the
city streets of Paris...
city streets of Paris...
to the rural Irish countryside...
and
I want to have clothes that celebrate both extremes...
I want to have clothes that celebrate both extremes...
and in just one bag.
I also want
comfort and ease of wearability...
comfort and ease of wearability...
all set off with my love
of glamourous accessories....
of glamourous accessories....
A wardrobe that encompasses
my style of
down to earth glamour....
down to earth glamour....
while at the same time speaking to the weather constraints of traveling foreign destinations...
This is one component that I have to regularly remind myself of...
if you can believe it...it is still hovering near the 90's
hear in Southern California as we approach November.
I purchased a new bag for the trip
as I didn't want to put such wear and tear on my good leathers.
I found this oxblood purse married both the black and brown aspects of my core wardrobe
better than any other neutral...
better than any other neutral...
and it allows me to dabble in a new color choice.
my foot wear is completely pared down...
a very comfortable flat....
a very, very comfortable walking boot...
and a heel that is comfortable...enough...
plus a good gym shoe.
plus a good gym shoe.
it is my accessories..
doing what great accessories can do....
doing what great accessories can do....
stretching a core wardrobe into a stylish one...
that I am most excited to experiment with...
to take a core wardrobe to destinations with varying needs...
and meet each with
style.
as always my friends
I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

wonderful choices! everything goes with each individual piece so well! Great job on packing..im never any good at picking out a whole load of holiday wear! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Rachel, it did take me a lot of trial and editing to come up with my travel wardrobe. it is the first time ever I have extra room in my suitcase....
DeleteFabulous! I love looking at all these pieces and "seeing" the wonderful combinations you're going to make. The shoe choices look inspired. Thanks so much for sharing with Visible Monday, and safe, happy travels.
ReplyDeleteThank you Patti! i so enjoyed your NYC observations!
DeleteYay!!! I'm so excited for you! Love the color combinations. Can we meet for coffee before you go?

DeleteI am impressed, Tamera, looks like you are really ready!! Have a fabulous time...I cannot wait to read all about it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam...yes i do finally feel ready...almost!
DeleteI am so excited for you, Tamera, and am wishing you safe travels. You did a great job of creating a travel capsule wardrobe full of exciting pieces. Hmmmm, now are you saving room for new clothes that may be acquired on your travels? :)
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact Lynne, I am indeed!! Never before have I packed a suitcase and needed the straps to hold my clothes in place...until this time! I have left plenty of room for some new 'friends".
DeleteWow...I tip my hat to you. I would never have been able to edit my wardrobe like that. I just hope you're taking an extra warm (winter) coat. Paris has been very cold as of late and you can expect the same of Ireland.
ReplyDeleteI love how you've added in leopard shoes in both flats and heels. All of your accessories are top notch. I want to raid your closet (or your suitcase) !
Have a great time...I'm sure you will : )

Thank you Suzanne for the heads up! Although I did not photograph it, I do have a wonderful down coat packed...it is because of this black coat that i reached for my black boots and tried to marry the blacks and browns with the oxblood bag! Right now, with what truly feels like and 'endless summer'. some cold weather sounds amazing!!
DeleteHave fun Tamera, you definitely look prepared!
ReplyDeletethank you my dear pao! Kudos again on your new necklaces full of juxtapositions!
DeleteYou will be super gorgeous as always. Stripes and pearls..my favs. Bon Voyage, Cherie!!!

Thank you so my dear! I did try to comment on your lovely movement post...unfortunately your word verification....kept me at bay.
DeleteHappy trip Tamera!
ReplyDeleteKim,USA
Thank you Kim! Enjoy your cooling Michigan weather!!
DeleteBon Voyage! Remember, you will need your passport at the first country in Europe, even if you are just on a layover to your final destination. Keep it handy! I showed my passport in Iceland and walked right off the plane into Paris at CDG w/o going through border control.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathleen...i do so appreciate all of your travel advice! I bought my new bag with the specific purpose of staying organized...thank yu for the passport reminder...i know just where I'll put it!
DeleteHave a wonderful trip!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you my dear! So happy to hear they celebrate Halloween in your neck of the woods!
DeleteAhhh, so exciting, Tamera! And I'm happy to hear that it's a 3 week trip. You've packed beautifully...with elegance and practicality. You should be sooooo proud of that one single suitcase accomplishment...no matter how large it may be. :)
ReplyDeleteYep Lisa...you guessed it...it's not a small suitcase...but it is under the limit :)
ReplyDeleteYou've done a fantastic job. I'm excited to see photos of your travels. Love the leopard shoes. They'll be terrific.
ReplyDeleteHave the trip of a lifetime and bring lots of new goodies home.
Tres Chic Tamera! I love how the oxblood purse plays so very nicely with both pairs of shoes. The entire wardrobe is fab. Bon Vacances!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful pictures of very nice clothes! Wish you safe, fun, and interesting travels!
ReplyDeleteLovely choices - I'm so excited for you. Will you be in Paris November 13 or after? I just read about an exhibit at Versailles November 13 2012-March 17 2013 with a lot of original art and artifacts being brought back and displayed for the first time since they were removed after the revolution. If your plans skirt around that, I know you will discover so much more and I look forward to your sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Have a wonderful time in Europe. I miss it & would love to go back but will have to live vicariously through you. I will also have to dress and accessorize vicariously through you too! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a marvelous time on your trip!! You will have the perfect outfit for every possible adventure.
ReplyDeleteAmazing style, as always. Bon Voyage! Cannot wait to hear the tails of you journey.
ReplyDeleteI love so many of the things you are taking. You will look marvelous!
ReplyDeleteAmazing choices! I wish you the most wonderful time on your trip!
ReplyDeleteBon Voyage, dear Tamera! Looks like an incredibly beautiful capsule, and I'm sure you will have a marvellous time in it. You will thank yourself for leaving some room in your nag as well. :) Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteWith what I see on the screen, you will be turning heads wherever you go and I'm sure that you will have many tales to tell as you explore new territory. Have a safe and inspiring trip!
ReplyDeleteGo safely, and go gorgeous! Clearly, you at least have the second part covered ... have fun.
ReplyDeleteI want to wish you a very good trip. You will look great wherever you go.
ReplyDeleteENJOY!! I can't wait to see pics of how you paired it all together!! Oxblood is a GREAT choice as it's a HOT color right now!

ReplyDeleteTamera, this is awesome. Knowing you have all the lovely things with you, to create your favorite outfits, it makes traveling abroad feel like home, just a little. I was feeling the softness and comfort in all of your items. I love the sequins and everything you picked. You will be in Tamera high style the entire time, I love this so much! xoxoxoxox
