I have lived here in Southern California most of my life....
which is a long time....
I have traveled by...
and known of ....
the encounter at Lax
for decades....
it has always appeared iconic
and
out of reach....
to me.
to me.
today we went in for cocktails...
it was easy to do...
still an LA icon...
but not even remotely out of reach...
especially after sending my darling daughter
off to Italy....
which before today....
seemed really out of reach.
This was intended to be a style post to share with my lovely friends at
Patti's Visible Monday...
but most all the photos of Ellis and I are much too teary of the both of us.
I never thought we looked much like each other...
but apparently after much tears...
we do.
as always dear friends
I wish you love and joy
as you style your life
and Ellis
I wish you a trip full of wonderful memories

Oh Tamera - big hugs to you. I probably shouldn't tell you this, but ... when my daughter went to Europe I discovered I could track her flights on line - I spent hours watching a little blip float across the northern hemisphere ... and then eagerly tuned in again for her return trip. The hardest part was in between when I was totally out of reach. A lesson in letting go learned the hard way! But you can do this! It's her turn to fly :-) and she's going to be just fine. You've provided very strong wings for her to navigate life with.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs gladly accepted...and thanks given in return. Yes, my husband found that app for his phone...we watched her make her way to Italy....
DeleteThank you so very much for your encouraging words and sentiment...I am so very grateful!
I am so proud of your daughter for going on this big adventure. I went to France when I was seventeen and loved every single minute of it. She will too! And...yes the two of you look so much alike! You are both adorable! I can't wait to hear about her experiences. I'm trying to imagine if my daughter does something like this...but we're working on baby steps after the college drop off.
ReplyDeleteSarah, thank you so much for visiting! Did i read on Kimberly's blog you went to france for dance? boy, does that sound like a romantic trip!
DeleteHow are you and your daughter doing with her college departure? I am so glad Ellis waited until starting her third year to travel so far...it gave me time to grow up some :)
wishing you and yours a fabulous fall and school year!
Dear Temera - an old friend said at the time my oldest daughter traveled - When you open your hand and let the beautiful bird fly it will return - and she will. I think you've given her lots of love...
ReplyDeleteAnne-Marie thank you for the kind words...they are salve for my soul!
DeleteWhat beautiful photos and writing, Tamera. I have a little lump in my throat too. Ellis is having a grand adventure and you are part of that! Both of you are such beauties. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.

ReplyDeleteThank you Shelley!
DeleteYou two look so much alike in that photo, maybe because your hearts are so close. :-)
