“Spacer"/

fall decor...the styling begins...

Saturday was spent pulling together inspiration pieces for
styling my fall decor

Apples picked from the orchard
are a regular player in fall styling here

texture...texture...texture
another player that always makes an appearance here...
no matter the season.

And
always wanting to put something new into the seasonal mix...
this season it's

maps

as in
 globes and folded maps
and my newest search...
extra large old school maps

before Ellis left for Italy...
we had pulled out  many maps to see exactly where
she was going...

as they spent the week out...
I realized I loved the way they interplayed with  warm fall colors...

I loved the feeling of adventure and possibility  they provided...
as well as a nod to September's academic beginning....

maps
my pick this season
to freshen all the fall  players

I spent the last couple of days pulling
and packing away
all of my summer styling pieces

taking my time to do so...
having been styling seasonally now for some time...
I have learned to slow down to enjoy the process...
{good advice for most things in life I have found}

years back I would push through in as short of time as I could manage....

not only did I miss relishing in the seasonal change...
and process
I wasn't always happy with the result
as it reminded me of too much work.

NowI only seasonally restyle as much as it's fun...

by breaking it down I make it an enjoyable process...

a celebratory embrace of the new season

 Editing everything down to neutral...
gives me fresh eyes for the space...

making room for what's to come...
to
celebrate the seasonal change to

Fall

as always dear friends...

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life
and savor fall's bounty

  2. I love the way you describe your process, particularly the deliberate slowing so as to maintain the joy/work balance, and your introduction of maps with all the symbolism they carry. Tantalizing glimpses!
