brunch and a brooch....

This weekend  we attended a special brunch   in Newport Beach, where  Ellis received a scholarship. This made for a perfect opportunity to wear my favorite silk jacket ....one of those thrilling finds...right out of a Chinese import store in the heart of the tourist hub of Chinatown, in LA.  Again... it speaks to the fact you can find fashion treasures absolutely anywhere!

I usually wear this jacket with my large turquoise necklaces....but this time I  wanted ti style it differently....so i brought out my  new pink brooch...
I love the color impact and whimsy it provides...

jacket-Chinatown LA., wicker purse-Kate Spade, jeans-NYDJ, brooch-Tamera Beardsley, sunglasses-H&M

I did a simple DIY for my floral brooch here.

 Wishing you love and joy
as you style your life

  11. OOOOOOOH! What a wonderful jacket!
I've found that loose silk tops work great in summer heat outdoors/ arctic chill AC inside.
Do you remember which store in Chinatown that you found it in? There are some great shops there.

  12. You make me want to break out my big ol' DIY Carrie Bradshaw flower brooch. I think everyone laughed at me the last time I wore it, but seeing yours, I realize I could style it much better. It might have been a bit much for the law office :P

You are so lovely in pink. It's so exciting to celebrate our children's milestones - I can see the pride and joy in your face, and the way you carry yourself.

  21. LOVE everything about these photos Tamera! I am so making myself a flower the moment I'm back home. Have been trying to get out to a few of the thrift/consignment stores here in South Florida (there are a ton of fabulous ones) in search of vintage brooches.
