This week Jeff and I headed down to the awe inspiring Crystal Cove
for some glamping (glamourous camping)
in our Airstream
When I came up with the idea last week...
it was with the intended purpose of a family holiday
since my high school boys were on spring break
just one thing....
they being two teenage young men....
had no desire to come with us.....
making me realize,
once again,
once again,
how far into this life transition Jeff and I are....
gone are the days of weekends revolving around the kids activities...
and driving them all over....
we are pretty much free
to do what we want
we are on our own schedule....
sometimes this is
a bitter sweet freedom....
a bitter sweet freedom....
and sometimes....
it's a new view....
ripe with possibilities....
for a secret to life
is truly learning to marvel in where you are....
and
to be grateful
for all you have had....
wishing you love and joy
as you savor your life
thanks so for visiting

I long for some down time like this..it looks so inviting and you look stunning in this off the shoulder sweater! Beautiful post...the relaxation is so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam! Thanks so for stopping by...enjoy your Fiesta!
DeleteBeautifully written, Tamera, and beautiful photos to accompany your thoughts. Transitions challenge us, they make us stretch our identities. Your getaway looks just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Patti...that is it exactly...they do ' make us stretch our identities...again and again. Thank you for your kind insights and as always...for hosting Visible Monday!
DeleteI feel like I just read a glossy magazine about how to camp chicly and with flair! We have an RV, not quite as quaint as an Airstream (I would love to have an Airstream but my 6'7" husband can't stand up in one). I also try to glamp when we use it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely weekend at the beach. And you look gorgeous, as always.
xo, A
Thank you Adrienne! i want you to know it was some of your posts with you, your husband and your RV, that made me realize, we needed to take ours out. So thank you for the inspiration!
Deletegreat photos! And, I love those sparkly sandals.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura...and thank you for sharing your web finds!
DeleteSo happy to see you in a good transition spot! You look beautiful and I hope you enjoyed your husband. Love you friend! :)
ReplyDeleteDanielle thank you so much my dear friend! So happy your back!
DeleteLovely, beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gracie...and thank you for sharing your bluebonnets!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful views! I am so curious about life in your Airstream as my husband and I have discussed finding one and traveling as soon as I retire (likely next May). Did you purchase yours new or used? And have you personalized the interior. I'm a nosy rosy, aren't I? It took my husband and I several years to get used to the idea that we did not always need to be on call.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post Tamera. We are just about in the same stage as my last son in the home is heading into high school this fall. I can't imagine the freedom to come. What an amazing and rewarding time.
ReplyDeleteThis all looks gorgeous and so relaxing. I can understand your mixed feelings, but still being a mother of a 10 year old boy, I do appreciate the time me and my husband can just do what we like. I guess I better also enjoy the time that he still likes to spend time with us!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful post, the pictures are lovely. It makes me wonder how my life would be without the boys. I hope it would be as fabulous as yours! You look gorgeous in that neutral outfit, your pictures look like a pages form a fashion magazine.

Oh, what fabulous glamping! This is such a lovely post, I always enjoy your ability to tell a story through your images. I remember feeling rather lost on the first holiday that we took without either of our daughters - then I got to like it!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely way of expressing your thoughts...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Tamera!
A beautiful, elegant post. You make a great team. Wait a few years and you may be "glamping" with your grandchildren. Hard to believe, but true. Ask me how I know!
ReplyDeleteYou look great!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, you are so glamourous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous set of photos! Makes me want to jump on the "glamping" bandwagon right away :-). First time visitor to your blog...I can't wait to poke around more. Happy Tuesday to you!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!!! I can "smell" the ocean :) Love your outfit! You look so relaxed and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGlamping - now that's a concept I can live with. You are indeed glamorous and your photos are always perfection.
ReplyDeleteYou know how to camp! I want to camp like you glamp!...Everything in your photos is so clean and fresh - like a beautiful magazine spread. But I get the feeling that this is a fairly accurate reflection of how you appreciate the beautiful details in your life. Linens sprinkled with rose water, chocolates under the pillow?!... You are gorgeous gorgeous! And your photo are incredibly inviting. I like the kissing baskets.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I still need to try glamping sometime! Here's to finding beauty in your transition.:)
ReplyDeleteAh yes! I see a few pretty little things that need to make their way into my closet! New to your blog by way of the Pleated Poppy and glad to have found your stylish spot on the web:D Have a good day!

This is my first time here and I just have to say...BEAUTIFUL photos! I'm not at the empty nest stage, actually I'm quite far from it, but your post was very neet and encourages me to enjoy every moment I have with them.

Such a beautiful neutral look...and what a lovely location!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! And I too love your airstream. My husband & I & our 2 little kids (1 & 3) have a small travel trailer & hope to spend many summers traveling around this country before they too won't want to go camping with mom & dad!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your posts. I am in the think of it. Kids 6 and 4. So nice to take a view at the other side. I love right now and live in the moment, but have to say you make the future look so bright. Thanks so much for sharing on Monday Mingle.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are beautiful, and my kids are young and into everything that seems so far away, but I know it isn't because I can't believe my daughter is already 10.
