Hello Gratitude

Hello Friday

Hello Gratitude
and
Happy Valentine's Day!

This week I have so enjoyed my Valentine decor
especially the soft sculpture heart I made.
I have had  a lot of fun
just moving it all around
and
 creating instant Valentine vignettes!

Next year I can see using this as a perfect
photo prop when shooting people as well!
I can see some perfect couple set ups!

I was lucky enough to start my Valentine's day off
with
 the sweetest Valentine
 from my
true Valentine!

My husband brought back this beautiful iron tea pot and cups
from his business trip last week.

I will be using it a lot today
as I have been down the last couple of days with the flu
that now has turned into the most annoying of truly hacking coughs!

Nothing like a little sickness
to make you truly grateful of your health!

This is just the gentle reminder I need
for me to make  my physical health
even more of a priority.

I know I take good care of my mind and soul
and
work out regularly
but I know there is room for some gentle improvement
as far as nutrition…
After all this body of mine
has been at work for over half a century
It's definitely earned some special TLC.

Once again the weather here in
Southern California is a perfect
80 degrees and sunny.
How could anyone not be grateful for this
especially seeing the terrible weather else where.
Just still feel oddly guilty about it :))

I am grateful next week that the three of us here
are taking our Airstream up to the central coast
to Pismo Beach
to support Ellis in her chairing of the yearly auction fundraiser
for her event planning major at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Not only am I excited to see Ellis
but also to have a family get away to the beach!

In preparation for the trip, this week I am excited to pull together
a perfect coastal wardrobe for our weekend get away!

To truly challenge my wardrobing ability
I have invested in a shoe
up until now
was always an absolute No Way!
As I mentioned last night on Instagram
I'm still not sure how I feel about them
but know they will work wonderfully  at least for glamping at the beach!

I was tickled to hear all the contrasting views on these shoes
in my comments!

So now I am off to brew myself some tea
and
get on to the business of
passing out my Valentines!

as always my friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life.

I'd love to hear what your'e grateful this week!

  2. I adore the big beautiful heart you made.....you, my dear, are multi-talented!

We, too, will be driving up the coast in our mini-camper to celebrate Valentine's Day and to celebrate our first meeting and subsequent love affair (marriage) of all these years.

We'll stay a few days at the St. Francis in San Francisco....and perhaps just melt in each others arms in our beautiful hotel suite the whole week-end! We'll honk if we see you!

  4. You got 'em! You got the white Birks! I tried on the silver ones but they make me look like a Hobbit. I'm too short to wear Birkenstocks. But you will look gorgeous with your long long legs. Hope you feel better.

  7. Happy Valentine's Day, Tamera! What a beautiful teapot (Japanese?) I just booked flights to Tokyo so I might have to find one while I'm over there! Hope you're feeling much better, sometimes our bodies have a way of telling us things our heads don't want to believe, like 'slow down!' or 'stop stressing!'

Take care. With lots of love, Liss xxx

  8. Thank you for posting the lovely photos, Tamera. Happy Valentine's Day to you!
I'm not sure what to do with the Birk's. S got a pair, and everything works on her. I've the longest legs of most I know & have never looked short .. until the Birks. If you can fashionably pull those off, you get some kind of award in my book, right up there with S!
Me .. I'm staying true to my stance of rather be barefoot than in Birks. Post your fashion success with the biggest challenge item ever .. they're adorable on S, so they definately work for some!

  10. How I envy your weather.

Sometimes life calls for practical shoes. This is one of those times.

  11. Last year around this time I visited San Diego for the first time and I could not believe the colorful landscape. All I see around here is brown and dead, so go ahead and feel a little guilty. :))
Oh, and you will like the Birkenstock (I am German, so it's part to my DNA), they will never look chic, but you are in most casual surroundings, so what? Happy weekend.

  12. Happy belated Valentine's day. I've been away all week and it was unexpectedly filled with bits of drama here and there...it sure if nice to come home and read your gratitude post with the lovely pictures. I am grateful for that indeed! The teapot is beautiful. A cup of tea is always a good idea. Have a great weekend.

  13. Happy Valentine's day my dear! Love the teapot and the handmade cards. My boys made gingerbread heart cookies for me at day care then promptly ate them on the way home! Birkenstocks offer comfort and longevity- still have mine from a trip to Germany around a decade ago.
P.S. Speaking of gratitude, am grateful to your blog. Have been taking 'beautiful photos' thanks to your wisdom in an earlier post. Certainly have a new appreciation for the little things.
