....{my week in photos}....

This weekend Jeff and I are in San Luis Obispo...
on a buying trip for my accessory designs
at the amazing
Remnants of the Past vintage show.

I have begun incorporating many vintage pieces into my designs...
so this show is just a magically  creative experience for me....
the Remnants of the Past is by far one of the best curated shows I have ever seen.

 this trip...
coming so close to our European departure...
has been  a little practice trip for me...

I have been able to practice....
leaving my boys on their own...
as they have school, sports and their own obligations and relationships to attend to...
After so many years...
having parenting my main focus...

 moving on....
and realizing I have done my job....
still takes practice....

I have been able to practice finding new sights
and capturing them with just one image...
so as to be able to post daily from Europe...

this was my new State Street Santa Barbara find...
the Painted Cabernet...
where inside you can
paint your own canvas masterpiece, while enjoying
wine, music and friends!
I know I want too!

this week I have been able to practice
pulling my travel wardrobe together...
(and OH boy...do I have some major editing to do!)

picking up a couple of filler pieces at my all time favorite store
Juxtaposition
in Crystal Cove
a store that never disappoints me.

even their dressing rooms are done to perfection
a room that is an exciting treat...
just to enter... and close the door behind you...

and how great is this message chalked onto an old oil painting....

"Do you know how beautiful you are?"

Here in Southern California this week
it has still been pushing 90 degrees each day...
but the lighting has been superb... making for some spectacular rides...

my favorite shot this week ....
the ocean in the fog...
In preparation for our big trip...
I have also been practicing...letting go of expectations...

to just experience fully what is before me.

So when I hiked the beach this week...
I decided to embrace the lack of expected sunshine...
to experience the beauty in the surprising fog...

and it became ....magical....

as always dear friends

I wish you love and joy
as you style your life

  4. Ah, San Luis Obispo, one of my favorite places. I lived there for many years. It's changed so much in recent years, no longer the sleepy little town. Your photos are just gorgeous. That picture of the foggy beach is a masterpiece. Isn't it wonderful to have new things to practice and learn? Keeps us fresh!

  5. Hi, stopping by via Life.Rearranged. Your 'biography' page drew me in because in many ways it is something that I could have written, though for different reasons perhaps. I just started my blogging journey this year as a way to 'discover me.' I am trying to reconnect with my creativity, something which I had a lot of potential for but not much guidance in, so never really had the confidence to put myself out there as an 'artist.' But it is in me and I do want to discover the depths of it. Your blog is beautiful and inspiring. Thank you.
